I finally made the hat to match my scarf and socks! I haven't yet made gloves though, or mittens.

Nice stuff! Looks like batik. I see by your banner that you do origami. Do you have any favorite folds? I'd love to see what you do. I love origami but haven't don't any in a while. I did one of those complicated roses and nearly lost my mind....

ReplyDeleteThe fleece is from Jo-Anne's Fabrics, and it's dark blue with white butterfly outlines. They were having a sale before Christmas. Since then I've just been picking up remnants of assorted patterns to make things for friends and coworkers.
I haven't been doing much origami lately as I can't find anyone to give it to! All my friends have already been saturated with it. :-P I've been wanting to origami a star for my car mirror, but I keep putting it off in favor of sewing. :)

Thanks! I've been slowly teaching myself how to make things just by mentally picking apart things that I already own. Scarves were easy (1/2). The socks took forever (3 hours for two), but I expect they'll be faster as I practice them more. The hat was a bit easier than the socks, but I suspect that a lot of it was just practice. I'm going to try mittens next, or maybe just skip ahead to gloves.
Oooh, how creative you are!!!
ReplyDeleteThese are really stunning ;)
Nice work.
